Sultans of Swing

I remember when this song came out.
I was in Montreal hanging out with Liz Harris,
a budding singer at the time.
We both thought the song was oddly catchy.
Sort of an upbeat Dylan tune with a fancier guitar player.
All these years later the song lives on
and I’m still not sure what the hook is.
Listening to

Pedro Javier Gonzalez

gives me a better sense of it’s excitement.

- I recently arranged Sultans for 4 guitars
and will record it with a FUSIO ensemble
later this semester.

Here is a low quality video of a recent FUSIO class with
Luis (nylon guitar) Jansten, Lindsay, and Atena.
I like the feeling of the music.

This is one of my favorite songs by the Police.
It has a great groove.
Learn the main riff using the attached charts.
Play along with the video.
I've also attached the complete chart for you to look at.
